PATH Strategy 2030: From Innovation to Impact

Global health is being reshaped at a moment when health threats are growing more complex. At the same time, scientific and technological advances are creating new possibilities faster than ever before.

Yet for millions of people, the benefits of those innovations remain out of reach. PATH Strategy 2030 is our response to that challenge—and our commitment to turning innovation into lasting health impact.

Over the next five years, we will focus our resources and expertise on three strategic priorities to help more people access the care they need:

• Develop and introduce vaccines, diagnostics, and devices that reach everyone
  Breakthroughs should belong to all of us. We will help bring the right health tools to the people who need them most, from vaccines and diagnostics to medical devices and responsible uses of artificial intelligence.
  

• Protect more people from infectious diseases
  No family should live in fear of preventable diseases. We will help countries prevent, control, and eliminate infectious diseases, while preparing for future outbreaks, so more families and communities are protected from preventable illness.
  

• Strengthen and integrate health care for current and emerging needs
  Every family should be able to get the care they need. We will help countries connect prevention, diagnosis, treatment, digital tools, and health services so people can get the care they need more easily.

PATH will leverage three impact enablers to connect global innovation with country-led action and deliver sustainable results in real-world health systems:

• Lasting progress through local leadership
  People closest to the challenge should lead the solution. We will deepen our commitment to country-defined priorities, regional leadership, and locally shaped innovation.

• Sustainability through financing and partnership
  Solutions should last long after we’re gone. We will work with governments, funders, civil society, manufacturers, and private-sector partners to ensure new tools and approaches are affordable, integrated into health systems, and fit for the communities they serve.

• Maximum impact with every investment
  Every effort should lead to better health. We will focus on measurable health impact, while improving coordination, using technology and AI more effectively, and helping resources flow where they can make the greatest difference.
