  1. Currently, there is limited availability of diagnostic tests for G6PD deficiency, appropriate for widespread use in malaria endemic regions. This creates a challenge to ensuring safe, radical cure treatment for malaria patients. The purpose of this call is to solicit information from companies that are working on G6PD diagnostic solutions, with the potential to address testing needs in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs), particularly in non-laboratory settings. Select companies with available prototypes will be considered for participation in future laboratory and operational evaluations, including field studies in LMICs, to further support product development.

Recognizing advocacy’s potential to impact maternal, newborn, and child health, a group of civil society organizations (CSOs) working on these issues in Kakamega County, Kenya, teamed up to establish the "Kakamega County Maternal, Newborn, and Child Health CSOs Alliance" in 2016. Partially sponsored by PATH, the alliance exists to coordinate advocacy efforts around improved access to health care services for women and children in Kakamega county. This brochure provides an overview of the Alliance's work, mission, and advocacy objectives.

  5. PATH comments on the Executive Board's agenda item on accelerating the elimination of cervical cancer as a global public health problem. PATH recommends that the strategy include HPV vaccines as a key WHO "best buy", and urges that efforts to prevent cervical cancer be accompanied by efforts to strengthen national health information systems. PATH also calls on WHO to endorse self-sampling for HPV testing, accelerated access to lower-cost point-of-care screening tests, treatment, and strategic procurement.
