This fact sheet details PATH’s sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) project in Myanmar, Strengthening the Realization of National Guidelines Policies and Plans (STRONG+), funded by the Access to Health Fund through its donors, the United States, the United Kingdom, Sweden and Switzerland. As women embrace new freedoms in Myanmar, they continue to face challenges in SRHR. This project marks an important milestone in Myanmar’s health policy landscape, as it provides an opportunity to improve access to SRHR information and services. PATH, along with partners Marie Stopes International and Local Resource Centre, have worked together since 2019 to implement and translate policy, plans, and guidelines into practice by training and bringing together decision-makers, health care providers, and communities.

  4. The Data Use Partnership (DUP) is a Tanzanian Government–led initiative that is improving the national health care system through better digital health systems and the use of health information. DUP aims to strengthen digital health and build local capacity so that everyone—from government officials to health workers to patients—can take more informed action to improve health, leading to a healthier Tanzania. This brief summarizes how the Government of Tanzania, through the DUP initiative, is working to digitalize primary health care so that health workers can identify, track, and support patients across the continuum of care, whether a mother is visiting the clinic for her first antenatal care visit or taking her child for a lifesaving vaccine. Applying digital health solutions to primary health care can enhance health service delivery; enable evidence-based actions based on high-quality, real-time data; and improve patient care.

Data governance refers to the process of safeguarding and harnessing digital technologies and the information they contain across the data lifecycle—from the moment a patient’s information is first entered in the system and throughout his or her entire life. This brief summarizes how Tanzania, under the DUP initiative, is working to establish strong governance structures to manage data, establish data quality, and facilitate data use to advance better health outcomes.
