This handbook is a practical guide developed for site-level microbicide researchers, communicators, advocates, and others working on HIV prevention trials in developing countries. It includes context-specific case studies and practical insights from actual clinical trial communications initiatives. It is being updated to include work sheets and slide sets. This report covers a 2009 consultation in Kampala, Uganda, that was convened by the Global Campaign for Microbicides, the Joint UN Programme on HIV/AIDS, and the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
