Zambia has recently made tremendous progress in preventing deaths and improving health among women, newborns, and children. Despite this, many still do not receive basic health services and lack access to essential medicines, products, and technologies. This brief gives an overview of the potential impact of increased prioritization of these health area commodities and interventions in Zambia.

Resuscitation can help avert newborn death by helping to establish adequate breathing and circulation when newborns struggle to achieve these on their own. This report identifies many of the gaps in accessing and implementing this essential lifesaving commodity in addition to providing key recommendations to address gaps, improve care, and save lives in the future.
