This fact sheet describes a PATH project in Vietnam with support from the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority within the US Department of Health and Human Services. The project supports the enhancement of sustainable influenza vaccine production in Vietnam. PATH is providing technical assistance to various groups in Vietnam to facilitate the production and clinical evaluation of safe and effective influenza vaccines and synergizing activities with work already under way in Vietnam through the World Health Organization.

This report describes the challenges, successes, and outcomes of a nine-year project to enhance sustainable seasonal and pandemic influenza vaccine development in low- and middle-income countries globally. PATH, in collaboration with the World Health Organization and the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority within the US Department of Health and Human Services, provided technical support to vaccine manufacturers in Brazil, China, India, Serbia, Thailand, and Vietnam as they worked to develop, manufacture, and submit for licensure safe and effective influenza vaccines.

This fact sheet provides an overview of PATH's Japanese encephalitis (JE) vaccine project, which supports the introduction of JE vaccine in endemic countries. In the past 15 years, PATH and its partners have helped immunize more than 300 million children against JE through the project.
