PATH comments on the WHO Executive Board's agenda item on the global strategy and plan of action for public health, innovation, and intellectual property. PATH urges the importance of addressing regulatory harmonization as a barrier to health technologies reaching those who need them most.

PATH comments on the Executive Board's agenda item on accelerating the elimination of cervical cancer as a global public health problem. PATH recommends that the strategy include HPV vaccines as a key WHO "best buy", and urges that efforts to prevent cervical cancer be accompanied by efforts to strengthen national health information systems. PATH also calls on WHO to endorse self-sampling for HPV testing, accelerated access to lower-cost point-of-care screening tests, treatment, and strategic procurement.

PATH comments on the WHO Executive Board's 2020 agenda item on the global immunization strategy. PATH reflects that immunization programming is a key component and entry point for primary health care, and calls on member states to appropriately increase domestic funding levels for immunization within the context of primary health care. PATH also commends the WHO resolution's focus on the need for investment in vaccine R&D.

This fact sheet details PATH’s sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) project in Myanmar, Strengthening the Realization of National Guidelines Policies and Plans (STRONG+), funded by the Access to Health Fund through its donors, the United States, the United Kingdom, Sweden and Switzerland. As women embrace new freedoms in Myanmar, they continue to face challenges in SRHR. This project marks an important milestone in Myanmar’s health policy landscape, as it provides an opportunity to improve access to SRHR information and services. PATH, along with partners Marie Stopes International and Local Resource Centre, have worked together since 2019 to implement and translate policy, plans, and guidelines into practice by training and bringing together decision-makers, health care providers, and communities.

This fact sheet provides an overview of pneumonia and other pneumococcal diseases, including disease burden and prevention and treatment measures. It also summarizes the pneumococcal conjugate vaccine (PCV) landscape, including the addition of Serum Institute of India, Pvt., Ltd.'s PCV (PNEUMOSIL®) to the suite of World Health Organization (WHO) prequalified PCVs. Also described are the Phase 3 clinical study results that constituted the pivotal data required for WHO prequalification.
