Senior Adviser, Corporate Strategy and Strategic Engagement

Ray Cummings is Senior Adviser, Corporate Strategy and Strategic Engagement, in PATH’s External Affairs division. In this role, Ray helps manage PATH’s institutional relationships with corporations, donors, and global implementing partners and advises PATH teams on commercial, business development, and partnering strategies.

Ray served from 2015 through 2022 as Director of PATH’s Market Dynamics program, which leads a diverse portfolio of work to analyze markets and address barriers to access to health care products and services in low- and middle-income countries. Prior to that, he was Commercialization Director of PATH’s Drug Development program and Senior Business Officer, Medical Devices and Health Technologies.

Before joining PATH in 2009, Ray worked for more than 20 years in product development, commercial, and executive leadership roles in the pharmaceutical industry, serving as Vice President of Business Development at Sarepta Therapeutics, as Director of Corporate Licensing at Pfizer, and in product development and licensing roles at Amgen and Bayer. Ray holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from Stanford University, a Master of Science in biochemistry and molecular biology from Harvard University, and a Master of Business Administration from the University of California, Berkeley.
