Malaria Control and Elimination Partnership in Africa (MACEPA)

Since 2005, MACEPA has been working with national programs to plan, implement, and evaluate a tailored package of interventions to reduce the burden of malaria and accelerate elimination efforts across a variety of transmission settings.

MACEPA is active in Ethiopia, The Democratic Republic of the Congo, Zambia, Senegal, Nigeria, and The Gambia. Previously, MACEPA was also active in Malawi, Kenya, Tanzania, and Mozambique.

Project approach
Our approach to drive innovation and impact occurs across four areas:
Data use and analytics

We work on strengthening surveillance systems, data quality, and decision-making processes based on data.

Monitoring, evaluation and learning

We monitor intervention delivery and evaluate the impact of existing and novel interventions. We create a learning environment for change, efficiency, and success.

National program support

We support national programs with evidence-based policy development, resource mobilization and prioritization, and partner coordination.

Intervention implementation

We work on improving intervention implementation through modelling, quantification, and microplanning to achieve high coverage of proven and potentially novel tools and strategies.
