The Op.ti.mize e-newsletter was a quarterly publication that highlighted advances and innovations in health care logistics, technologies, and policy. Developed by project Optimize, a collaboration between PATH and the World Health Organization, this newsletter provided an overview of Optimize’s activities and areas of focus.

This document highlights PATH's experience and expertise in translating data, knowledge, and messages to stimulate action by decision-makers in support of health innovations, policies, and sustainable resources.

This article, published in the New England Journal of Medicine (NEJM), reports results from a pivotal, large-scale Phase 3 trial of RTS,S/AS01 malaria vaccine. When compared to immunization with a control vaccine, infants (aged 6 to 12 weeks at first vaccination) vaccinated with RTS,S had one-third fewer episodes of both clinical and severe malaria and had similar reactions to the injection. In this trial, RTS,S demonstrated an acceptable safety and tolerability profile. This messaging framework was developed to support advocates as they raise awareness and build support for multipurpose prevention technologies (MPTs) for reproductive health in India. The framework provides a menu of messaging options that advocates can use in presentations, brochures, websites, speeches, or other outreach efforts to help advance support for MPTs in India. It is designed as a trifold brochure.
