  1. Advocacy is one of the many powerful tools that PATH uses to achieve our mission. By influencing decision-makers at all levels of government in countries around the world, PATH works to create a policy environment that supports good health. Advocacy to Improve Health for Women and Children: Strategies and Stories From the Field provides stories from Africa and Asia that illustrate how PATH uses a 10-part approach to advocacy to achieve lasting policy change. The stories are a resource for global health implementers and advocates to help them develop strategies to achieve policy goals. Although the examples are specific to particular countries and health issues, the methods used to accomplish policy objectives can be practiced in a variety of settings to address a myriad of issues.

  2. This document describes PATH’s collaboration with Vietnam’s National Expanded Program on Immunization (EPI) and Southern EPI to implement a Digital Immunization Registry System. The new system provides many benefits over a paper-based system in that it allows for real-time access to immunization data, faster and more accurate recording and reporting of immunization details, timely delivery of services, and improved program monitoring.

  4. Over the past decade, the digital health community has demonstrated through pilots that information and communication technology can improve health services delivery in the developing world. We propose that digital health interventions will impact health outcomes significantly only when routinely used, or institutionalized, as a common practice. Achieving institutionalization requires the right leadership, solution, approach, and capacity. This paper, written by the Digital Health team, is intended to stimulate debate on what that implies for our investment and collaboration strategies.
