Research and development (R&D) is critical to ensuring that high-impact, affordable health technologies reach the people who need them most. Recognizing the potential of advocacy to impact Kenya’s R&D and innovation system, a group of stakeholder organizations has launched the Coalition for Health Research and Development (CHReaD).

This two-page issue brief provides important background on why policymakers and global health leaders must invest in health supply chains to help close the immunization gap, as well as provides resources on action steps on how to do so.

This issue of Outlook establishes menstrual health as a sexual and reproductive health and rights issue; presents the obstacles to and the consequences of not promoting and protecting menstrual health; and highlights opportunities to improve menstrual health in low-resource settings.

The BID Initiative is grounded in the belief that better data plus better decisions will lead to better health outcomes. The infographic depicts the initiative’s approach through Products, Policies & Practices, People, and Packaging.

This pilot used data collected in Uganda to report on the root causes of cold chain equipment failure. The resulting information may be used to inform global policy, equipment design, and country-level cold chain improvements.
