Hypoxemia has a high risk of mortality and requires treatment with lifesaving oxygen. However, oxygen is not always available or accessible, and many health facilities in low-resource settings are faced with insufficient supply. We seek to expand access to cost-effective, easy-to-use, and reliable oxygen technologies.

The East African Community (EAC) has demonstrated commitment to harmonize the regulation of health technologies and build regulatory capacity across partner states. This document provides an overview of current regulatory systems at the EAC level and within partner states. It also summarizes key challenges and identifies potential solutions that could be the focus of future policy advocacy efforts.
