This fact sheet outlines the importance of tackling respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), the top cause of newborn lower respiratory infections worldwide. It highlights the need to prepare for incoming RSV interventions (including vaccines for maternal immunization and antibodies given at birth) and to work across vaccine and prenatal care arenas.

This case study explores PATH’s effective scale-up of a Digital Immunization Registry System (ImmReg) in Vietnam. The web-based application is accessed by health workers via computers and smartphones to record and manage immunization data. ImmReg also sends Short Message Service (SMS) reminders to caretakers of children due for vaccinations.

In February 2016, PATH convened a workshop involving public and private family planning market specialists that resulted in the messaging framework.
