Following the endorsement of the African Union (AU) Model Law on Medical Products Regulation in January 2016, regional legal frameworks and national laws must be revised to reflect Model Law provisions and support regulatory harmonization. Regional economic communities and member states have an important role to play in the creation of roadmaps and plans of action at the regional and national levels, which will be critical in the domestication of the AU model law.
