PATH is implementing a comprehensive approach to increase access to oxygen in low- and middle-income countries, including supporting normative policy change by the World Health Organization (WHO), helping strengthen markets for oxygen concentrators and pulse oximeters, raising awareness about the importance of oxygen through its HO2PE: Oxygen Gives Life campaign, partnering with the United for Oxygen alliance, and developing a suite of evidence-based materials to help advocates and policymakers drive change at the national level.

  2. Subcutaneous DMPA (DMPA-SC, brand name Sayana® Press) is a new, easy-to-use injectable contraceptive that is ideally suited for remote access and even self-injection. This research brief describes new research findings that women who self-injection DMPA-SC continue to use contraception longer than women who use intramuscular DMPA (DMPA-IM, brand name Depo-Provera®) administered by a health worker. There is broad recognition of the growing and inequitable burden of cervical cancer in low-resource countries, and uptake of new screening and treatment alternatives for adult women and human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccines for young adolescent girls is on the rise. For the first time in history the elimination of the disease is within reach, and on May 19, 2018, WHO Director-General, Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus made a global call for action on cervical cancer elimination. This fact sheet summarizes PATH's current work and future priorities.

  4. The A2O2: Accelerating Access to Oxygen convening was a three-day meeting held in Dubai November 7–9, 2017. The purpose of the meeting was to foster information sharing and active dialogue between key stakeholders. To achieve this, the agenda included plenary and panel presentations, small-group breakouts, and roundtable working-group sessions. The convening included 102 participants representing four stakeholder groups: country decision-makers, global health partners, financiers, and manufacturers.

  5. The Prospective Country Evaluation (PCE) is an independent evaluation of the Global Fund commissioned by the Global Fund's Technical Evaluation Reference Group (TERG). The PCE is designed to evaluate how Global Fund policies and process play out in country in real time and provide high quality, actionable, timely information to national program implementers and Global Fund policymakers. The PCE is implemented by the Centro de Investigación Epidemiologica en Salud Sexual y Reproductiva (CIESAR) in collaboration with IHME and PATH. This report describes the PCE establishment in Guatemala , progress to-date, and highlights early findings with a focus on the funding request and grant-making stages.
