Pro Mujer and PATH announce strategic alliance to accelerate women-centered health innovation across Latin America

The partnership will advance integrated health models, strengthen health systems, and mobilize scalable financing solutions to expand women’s access to health care across the region.

Lima, May 27th, 2026 — Pro Mujer and PATH announced today a strategic alliance to co-design, pilot, and scale integrated women-centered health solutions across Latin America, combining community-based care, digital innovation, evidence generation, and sustainable financing approaches to strengthen health systems and expand access to quality care.

Announced during Pro Mujer’s GLI Forum Latam 2026, the partnership brings together two organizations with complementary expertise and a shared commitment to advancing gender equity through systems-level innovation.

For more than 36 years, Pro Mujer has worked to expand opportunities for women across Latin America through an integrated model spanning health, financial inclusion, and capacity building. PATH is a global nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing health equity through innovation and strategic partnerships.

Together, the organizations will explore and develop collaborative initiatives focused on:

  • advancing integrated, women-centered health delivery models;
  • strengthening health systems and frontline service capacity;
  • leveraging digital health and data to improve continuity of care and system performance;
  • generating evidence and actionable learning to inform policy and scale; and
  • mobilizing innovative financing and partnerships to support long-term sustainability.

“At Pro Mujer, we believe that advancing women’s health requires solutions that are designed around women’s realities and built to scale,” said Carmen Correa, CEO of Pro Mujer. “This partnership with PATH reflects a shared ambition: to help reimagine how health systems serve women in Latin America by combining innovation, community trust, and sustainable pathways to impact.”

“Achieving health equity requires bold collaboration across sectors and disciplines,” said Nikolaj Gilbert, President and CEO of PATH. “By combining PATH’s global health innovation expertise with Pro Mujer’s deep regional presence and trusted community model, we have an opportunity to accelerate scalable solutions that improve health outcomes for women and strengthen systems more broadly.”

The alliance reflects a growing recognition that women’s access to health care remains both a critical equity challenge and a significant opportunity for social and economic transformation. Despite being central to family and community wellbeing, women across Latin America continue to face structural barriers to timely, affordable, and quality health care—particularly in underserved communities.

By combining implementation experience, technical innovation, and partnership mobilization, Pro Mujer and PATH aim to catalyze practical, scalable solutions that improve access, continuity, and resilience across health systems in the region.

The announcement at GLI Forum Latam 2026 underscores the increasing intersection between gender lens investing, health equity, and scalable development innovation, highlighting the role of cross-sector collaboration in building more inclusive systems.
