Join PATH at the 15th IHEA World Congress on Health Economics

July 5, 2023 by PATH

At the 15th International Health Economics Association (IHEA) World Congress, which will be held July 8-12 in Cape Town, South Africa, PATH will present findings from recent human papillomavirus (HPV), respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), and malaria vaccine health economics projects and exchange learnings with peers and partners.

PATH is presenting at three types of sessions to share different facets of our health economics work:

  • At an immunization-focused pre-congress session, PATH will share lessons learned from two PATH-led multi-country costing studies evaluating HPV and malaria vaccine delivery programs.
  • During the main congress, results from an impact and cost-effectiveness analysis of potential interventions against infant RSV in low- and middle-income countries will be shared in an abstract-based oral presentation.
  • In an organized session during the main congress, four individual presentations by the PATH team will highlight results from an HPV vaccine cost of delivery study conducted with local partners in Ethiopia, Guyana, Rwanda, Senegal, Sri Lanka, and Uganda. The study sought to address the limitations of existing HPV vaccine delivery costing studies by estimating the ongoing delivery costs in these six countries and exploring how program context and vaccine schedule can influence costs in routinized national-level HPV immunization programs.

The IHEA Congress is a global forum for health economists to engage around the latest methodological developments, present recent research findings, and explore the implications of this research for health policy and practice. The theme of IHEA 2023 is “Diversity in Health Economics.”
