Evaluation of a point-of-care test for G6PD deficiency in Brazil: The SD Biosensor STANDARD G6PD Test

Research briefs in English and Portuguese on findings from a performance and operational use study of the SD Biosensor STANDARD™ G6PD Test in Brazil.

The study shows that the SD Biosensor STANDARD G6PD Test performed well in comparison to the reference standard (spectrophotometry) which represents an important opportunity to improve Plasmodium vivax case management in malaria-endemic settings where reliable alternatives are needed to expand access to radical cure. The results of this study are relevant for the introduction of single-dose Kozenis in Brazil, which was approved in 2019.
