Subcutaneous DMPA: Evidence, Experience, and Resources for Introduction
Subcutaneous DMPA (DMPA-SC, brand name Sayana Press) is an innovative injectable contraceptive that can dramatically expand access and choice for women. A new initiative led by PATH and John Snow Inc., the DMPA-SC Access Collaborative is working with ministries of health and partners across sectors to strengthen scale-up and build toward a robust global market for the product.
During this October 2017 webinar, presenters provided an overview of tools, resources, and references for DMPA-SC introduction planning and implementation, as well as self-injection program design. Presenters also discussed the Access Collaborative’s forthcoming work with ministries of health and partners to facilitate introduction and scale-up.
