This is the newsletter of APHIA II Western, a USAID-funded project that aims to promote the adoption of healthier behaviors, increase the use of HIV and AIDS health services, and promote family planning/reproductive, maternal and child health, tuberculosis, and malaria prevention services in Western Kenya. It also aims to work with communities to enhance access to health services for pregnant mothers, comprehensive care for orphans and vulnerable children, and fight HIV-related stigma and discrimination and gender-based violence.

This toolkit aims to provide interpersonal communication methods to help key population communities identify and address barriers to putting HIV prevention messages into practice in their own lives and within their own contexts. This toolkit was developed by PATH for nongovernmental and community-based organizations and for government health care providers working with key populations on targeted interventions. The methods can also be adapted for use by organizations working on HIV care, support, and treatment.

The USAID-funded Prevention of Postpartum Hemorrhage Initiative (POPPHI) has developed numerous fact sheets on postpartum hemorrhage to educate individuals on its severity and how it can be avoided through active management of the third stage of labor.

This curriculum targets adolescent girls 14 to 18 years old in China's Yi community. It consists of 54 participatory sessions that aim to equip and empower Yi adolescent girls with the life skills and health knowledge needed to develop healthy behaviors and move beyond the challenges of urban migration and the growing HIV/AIDS epidemic. The document is available as one large file or as multiple smaller sections for easier downloading.
