PATH recommends Seattle staff work from home in response to COVID-19 outbreak

Limits also placed on staff travel, meetings, and events.

King County Washington, where PATH's headquarters are located in Seattle, is the epicenter of the novel coronavirus outbreak in the United States. This afternoon, the Seattle & King County Health Department issued several new recommendations for preventing the spread of COVID-19 in our area and to keep our workforce healthy.

Following this guidance, PATH has strongly encouraged all Seattle staff who are able to do so to begin working from home/telecommuting, effective immediately and until further notice.

Additional restrictions and recommendations

PATH has also restricted all non-essential travel (within and across borders). In lockstep with several of our key partners and funders, this guidance comes out of an abundance of caution. As the outbreak becomes more widespread globally, we should all make an effort to practice social distancing to mitigate the spread of COVID-19.

PATH is also recommending that all PATH programs cancel, postpone, or make virtual all PATH-hosted external meetings and events, hosted on or off PATH premises.

Because of our headquarters location in Seattle, where we face the largest novel coronavirus outbreak in the United States to date, PATH's leadership team faces the unique challenge of making decisions that balance the urgency of our mission with the safety and health of our staff. We will continue to assess our approach as the COVID-19 epidemic unfolds.
