18-21 November 2025
Copenhagen, Denmark
The second United Nations High-Level Meeting on TB in 2023 set ambitious five-year global targets: 90% coverage for both TB treatment and TB preventive treatment, 100% coverage of rapid diagnostic testing for TB, and availability of new TB vaccines that are safe and effective by 2027.
At the Union World Conference on Lung Health 2025, the spotlight is on progress toward these targets, as well as the work that is still needed to achieve an end to the TB epidemic.
PATH has applied broad, cross-cutting expertise and innovative approaches to the fight against TB for 25 years. Our work includes strengthening primary health care systems for TB services; introducing and scaling innovations in TB case finding, treatment, and prevention; combating drug-resistant TB; and increasing access to and use of best-in-class diagnostic tools and technologies to ensure fast and tailored treatment for people with TB.
At Union 2025, PATH teams will share achievements from several projects across our TB portfolio. We will highlight the use of innovative diagnostic approaches, including artificial intelligence and radiologic information systems, to reduce TB diagnosis delays in remote areas of Ukraine. We will share how PATH is ensuring person-centered approaches for people with TB, including mental health screening and routine primary health service integration in Myanmar. From India, we will highlight initiatives that empower frontline health care workers, youth volunteers, and TB data managers.
See below for a full schedule of PATH’s oral presentations and posters at Union 2025.

Presenter: Dr. Aye Pyei Sone Phoo
Summary: Integrating PHQ-9 screening into TB care in Myanmar at treatment initiation and during the intensive phase proved feasible and valuable. Screenings paired with structured DS-TB counseling helped identify and reduce mild depressive symptoms. Results highlight the importance of embedding mental health support into people-centered TB services through trained health workers.
Wednesday, November 19, 2:10-3:40 pm CEST, Room B3A
Presenter: Dr. Gunta Dravniece
Summary: The Chernihiv region in Ukraine faces healthcare access challenges due to frontline proximity. The USG-funded STBCEU initiative provided a mobile van with AI-enabled portable X-ray machine and telemedicine solution, reducing TB diagnosis time from 5 to 1.5 days and facilitating timely treatment.
