Join PATH at ICASA 2025
PATH is proud to demonstrate our commitment to health equity by championing integrated HIV and primary health care at the 23rd International Conference on AIDS and STIs in Africa (ICASA 2025).
December 3–8, 2025 | Accra, Ghana
As the global HIV response faces growing challenges, it is time to examine our approaches and strengthen primary health care systems that put people first—ensuring equity and compassion for all. By uniting through inclusive policies, innovation, integration, and collaboration, we can accelerate progress toward ending HIV and achieving universal health care.
PATH is partnering with communities, ministries of health, and civil society to accelerate demand and adoption of evidence-based approaches and integrated delivery strategies to eliminate vertical (mother-to-child) transmission of HIV, syphilis, hepatitis B, and Chagas disease.
Through several events at ICASA 2025 listed below, PATH staff and our partners will share evidence and insights on eliminating vertical transmission as well as effective approaches to HIV treatment. We have also compiled a list of more than 25 presentations and events focused on elimination of vertical transmission at the conference.
We look forward to joining many from the global community in dialogue and learning exchange at the conference. Please see below for a full schedule of PATH’s presence at ICASA—more information about the conference is available in the ICASA online program. We hope to see you there! Assessing proxy antiretroviral therapy pick-up outcome: Retrospective cohort study in Mizoram, India
Time: 15:55–16:15 GMT
Session type: Poster presentation
Location: Exhibition Room
Presenter: Dr. Prashant Deshpande, PATH
In India’s Mizoram State, ensuring continuity of HIV treatment is a challenge. While multi-month dispensing is a national priority, implementation is inconsistent. Proxy Antiretroviral Therapy (ART) pick-up, where a trusted person collects ART on behalf of a patient, has emerged as an informal patient-centered strategy, though its effects remain understudied. This study assessed the occurrence of proxy pick-up and its association with retention in care, adherence, viral load coverage, and suppression among people living with HIV. - Saturday, 6 December
