FY26 funding bill maintains strong U.S. commitment to maternal and child health
This week, the United States Congress passed—and President Donald Trump signed into law—the FY26 State, Foreign Operations, and Related Programs (SFOPS) and Labor, Health and Human Services funding bills, reaffirming strong bipartisan support for U.S. global health investments. These bills sustain robust funding for lifesaving programs, including maternal, newborn, and child health (MNCH), immunization, global health security, malaria, and HIV.
PATH applauds Congress for prioritizing maternal and child survival. These investments provide essential care for pregnant women, help more mothers and newborns survive, and ensure more children reach their fifth birthdays through immunization and the prevention and treatment of malaria and other childhood diseases. Both bills also reinforce the critical role of research and development in preventing and treating infectious diseases, supporting the development and delivery of new tools to advance global health and health security.
PATH remains committed to working with the Trump Administration, Congress, and partner countries to support sustainable, country-led programs that improve health outcomes and protect the lives of mothers and children around the world.
