The Council on Foreign Relations is hosting a special live webcast of a day-long conference to focus on the threat of a flu pandemic. The goal is to increase awareness of the enormous policy and preparedness gaps facing governments, businesses, and the international community at large.
Conference topics include an assessment of the avian influenza threat, control and containment strategies, and roles of public and private sectors. Speakers will include leaders and experts from the scientific and health communities, the US government, the international community, and industry.
The conference and webcast will take place on Wednesday, November 16, 2005, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. For more information, visit the Council on Foreign Relations website: www.cfr.org.
