PATH launches search for Chief Scientific Officer
Seattle, April 20, 2023 – PATH is searching for a Chief Scientific Officer (CSO) to head a new division that will oversee the organization's vaccine, biologics, diagnostics, devices, and drug research, development, and introduction activities.
The CSO will report to PATH’s CEO and President and will be a key member of the Executive Team, and will also work closely with partners to ensure that PATH's product development efforts are complementary and aligned with the organization's overall vision, mission, and strategy. The CSO will also drive the identification and alignment of strategic priorities for investments in scientific innovation efforts and act as a strategic liaison with program leaders for efforts related to scientific innovation.
The new CSO will also be responsible for helping build PATH's brand and showcasing the organization's capabilities and innovations. The CSO will play a critical role on PATH's Executive Team, working with the CEO to develop the organization's multi-year strategy refresh.
PATH is seeking a candidate with an MD or PhD in a life science discipline, with demonstrated scientific contributions to the field. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 20 years in a life sciences leadership role with progressive responsibility leading an organization's scientific programs. The candidate should also have deep scientific expertise in one or more disciplines relevant to global health, experience leading efforts within research institutes and/or pharma/biotech companies to develop products for infectious diseases that disproportionately affect citizens in LMICs, and demonstrated success in working with donors who invest in product research, development, and/or introduction approaches to global health challenges.
