Local production of essential medicines and medical devices improves access to quality health care and provides critical protection against health threats. PATH works with governments to develop policies and regulations that provide frameworks to expand health product manufacturing and support local manufacturers to meet international quality standards. Creating new markets for local producers is critical to the sustainability of local production—and for the achievement of UHC.
