A suite of strategies and tools to build healthy communities
To save lives and transform health, health solutions must reach the people who need them.
PATH puts innovation to work to strengthen health systems, encourage healthier behaviors, and increase access to affordable solutions. Challenges can include infrastructure issues, such as limited electricity for hospitals or long distances to clinics. Sometimes, there aren’t enough health care professionals to serve the community, or workers need training to use lifesaving new tools or to address the overlapping burden of diseases. And sometimes, longstanding but harmful traditions need to be reconsidered, such as mothers giving birth at home without trained health care providers.
Partnering locally for lasting impact
We tap into our on-the-ground experience and networks of local partners to help countries and communities overcome these barriers. We help improve infrastructure and supply systems, advocate for lifesaving policies and priorities, and train and equip health workers. And our digital health solutions are delivering on the promise of information technology to strengthen health systems.
We also work with local leaders to attract more community members to health services and bring people the information and resources that can help them stay healthy. In all of these efforts, we strive to work within a country’s health systems, increasing our reach and helping ensure sustainability for future generations.
Altogether, these efforts are touching the lives of hundreds of millions of people worldwide—reducing the threat of debilitating diseases and building lasting foundations for better health.
