Scott Jackson joins PATH as vice president of external relations

New vice president brings extensive experience in fundraising, public affairs, and strategic planning to PATH

SEATTLE, January 3, 2006―PATH, an international, nonprofit health organization, announced today that Scott Jackson, formerly a senior vice president with World Vision, will join the organization as vice president for external relations. Jackson’s primary role will be to direct PATH’s fundraising and communications efforts. 

PATH works in 100 countries around the world. With projects ranging from malaria vaccine development to improving the health of mothers and newborn children, PATH leverages its partnerships, in-house innovation capabilities, and applied technologies to create sustainable health care solutions in the developing world.

From managing and implementing global communications plans and strategic partnerships to securing funds from the private and public sectors, Jackson has a proven track record.  While at World Vision, Jackson led as many as 200 employees and managed a fundraising portfolio of more than $60 million. He oversaw the HIV/AIDS advocacy and fundraising campaign, “Hope Initiative,” tour to 18 cities across the US. 

Jackson has donated his time and talents to numerous nonprofit organizations throughout his career. He served as a founding member of the management committee for the ONE Campaign to Make Poverty History, an advocacy and awareness campaign on global health and poverty issues that has the support of more than 1.5 million Americans. He serves as a board member for Global Impact, a nonprofit fundraising organization consisting of 50 US charities that touch almost every developing country in the world through disaster relief, education, health training and economic programs that promote self-sufficiency.

Before joining World Vision, Jackson was president and managing director of APCO Seattle, where he managed the transformation of the small firm into one of the largest public affairs and business consulting firms in the Pacific Northwest. He was previously president and CEO of TRADEC Trade and Development Consortium, one of the first marketing and communications firms in North America to specialize in trade promotion, technology transfer, and market access.

Jackson was a Rotary Scholar MBA at the University of Edinburgh, completed a program in organizational development at Harvard Business School, and earned a Bachelor of Arts with honors from the University of Puget Sound.
