Press room Global Health Council elects PATH's president and CEO to board of directors

PATH’s president and CEO, Dr. Christopher Elias, has been elected to a three-year term on the Global Health Council’s board of directors. The board elected Dr. Elias and two other new members during its meeting on June 17.

The Global Health Council is the world’s largest membership alliance of public health organizations and professionals dedicated to saving lives by improving health throughout the world. Dr. Elias joins new members Elizabeth Furst Frank, senior vice president for Global Program Operations at AmeriCares, and Patricia McGrath, a commercial real estate investor, asset manager, and consultant. Joel Lamstein, co-founder and president of John Snow Inc., was appointed chair of the board, succeeding Susan Dentzer, editor-in-chief of Health Affairs.

Jeffrey L. Sturchio, president and CEO of the council, noted that the experience and acumen of Elias and the other new board members “will be important assets for the Global Health Council.”

Dr. Elias also serves on the boards of the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition, InterAction, Medicines for Malaria Venture, Rural Development Institute, and the Washington Biotechnology & Biomedical Association, among others.
