Vice President Scott Jackson to leave PATH in October

Scott Jackson, vice president for External Relations, is leaving PATH to take the position of chief executive officer for the international nongovernmental organization Global Impact.

“Scott Jackson will truly be missed as a friend and as a colleague, and we appreciate his many contributions to PATH’s work and to the global health field overall,” said Dr. Christopher J. Elias, president and CEO of PATH. “It has been my genuine privilege to work with him over these past five years.”

Mr. Jackson has been instrumental in increasing PATH’s advocacy, visibility, and fundraising efforts during his five years at PATH. He served as the executive sponsor of our Washington, DC, office during a time of significant growth. He also played an integral role in the development of alliances housed at PATH, including the Washington Global Health Alliance in Seattle and the Global Campaign for Microbicides in Washington, DC. His skills in building external partnerships have strengthened our pipeline of future work.

Mr. Jackson will join Global Impact as chief executive officer, reporting to Renée S. Acosta, who will continue as president. Based in greater Washington, DC, with staff across the United States and overseas, Global Impact raises funds to address critical humanitarian needs around the world. Global Impact has raised more than US$1.3 billion for thousands of organizations, including its alliance of 58 US-based international charities (which include PATH).

“Scott has a stellar track record, filled with commendable accomplishments, which will advance our mission of assuring help for the world’s most vulnerable people,” states Ms. Acosta. “We welcome his leadership at Global Impact.”

Mr. Jackson will remain in his role at PATH through September 2011. We are undertaking an extensive search for his successor.
