Courageous Community Leaders Go Above and Beyond to Fight Tuberculosis One Patient at a Time

This is the story of how two community members, Mr. Ritte and Mr. Kiondo, decided to team up to fight tuberculosis (TB). With PATH's training, the two men were able to improve TB case detection and treatment success in their community and in other districts, helping to foster the TB prevention, diagnosis, and treatment goals of the Tanzanian Ministry of Health and Social Welfare. This story is one of a series of success stories that showcase some of the ways that PATH’s work in TB is having an impact on people’s lives in a variety of settings around the world. This work was made possible through generous funding from the US Agency for International Development.
