PATH’s Living Labs Initiative uses human-centered design (HCD) to co-create sustainable health solutions in partnership with the intended users. Organizations that are interested in deeply engaging with health workers, communities, and other public health stakeholders to design and test innovations that increase health system capacity and advance health equity will find information below on how to partner with Living Labs to accelerate and creatively address their priorities. We offer a range of service models and partnerships, and this playbook outlines those options.

Drawing on PATH’s global expertise working in primary health care (PHC) for more than 40 years, as well as deep engagement in Kenya, where PATH has supported the government for more than 30 years, PATH regularly serves as a technical partner to the Kenyan government on PHC policy adoption and implementation at both the national and subnational levels. This report highlights examples as well as priorities for future work.

PATH has played a major role in discussions around the proposed Kenya Drugs Authority Bill, which had been under development and stakeholder engagement for approximately seven years.The Kenya Drugs Authority Bill was initiated by the Ministry of Health, with support from parliamentary champions in the National Assembly, and recommendations from partners in the health research and development ecosystem, including PATH.
