PATH and Women Deliver are joining forces to support regional convenings during the Women Deliver 4th Global Conference in Copenhagen with a focus on strengthening the health, rights, and well-being of women and girls around the world.
PATH announced a request for applications seeking local partners to execute nine regional caucuses, which will bring together a broad spectrum of stakeholders, including nongovernmental and civil society organizations, policymakers, academics, multilateral and bilateral donors, government officials, private sector representatives, journalists, advocates, and young people.
The caucuses will engage participants in developing collective strategies to elevate women and girls as part of regional and national planning, implementation, and accountability for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) — a key focus of the Women Deliver 4th Global Conference.
The Women Deliver 4th Global Conference, which will be held in Copenhagen, Denmark from May 16-19, 2016, will be the largest gathering on girls' and women's health, rights, and well-being in more than a decade, and one of the first major global conferences following the launch of the SDGs. The focus of the conference will be on how to implement the SDGs so they matter most for girls and women, with a specific focus on health, in particular maternal, sexual, and reproductive health and rights; gender equality; education; environment; and economic empowerment. Held during the main conference program, the regional caucuses will provide a critical platform for participants to advocate to political leaders and influencers to support policy and resource recommendations emerging from the conference both during the event and upon their return home.
PATH is seeking applications from organizations to lead the development and execution of the caucus for their designated region, one organization in each of nine regions: Eastern Africa, Western Africa, Central/Middle Africa, Southern Africa, Middle East/North Africa (MENA), South-Eastern Asia, Southern Asia, Central Asia/Eastern Europe, and Latin America and the Caribbean.
Applicant organizations must be registered and/or incorporated as a nongovernmental or nonprofit organization in a country that is part of the region for which they are applying. In-country offices or affiliates of international nongovernmental and/or nonprofit organizations located in the selected regions are welcome to apply.
PATH will award up to USD$15,000 to one organization per region. Funding will expire May 31, 2016.
Caucuses will take place on May 19 at the Bella Center conference venue during the main program of the Women Deliver 4th Global Conference.
Applications are now being accepted on a rolling basis, and are due no later than 11:59 pm ET on January 17, 2016. Please direct any questions about this opportunity to email@example.com.
