Efficacy of RTS,S/AS01E Vaccine Against Malaria in Children 5 to 17 Months of Age
This study, published in the New England Journal of Medicine, evaluated the efficacy of the RTS,S malaria vaccine given with a more immunogenic adjuvant system (AS01E) than one used in a previous study (AS02A). The study was conducted in children 5 to 17 months of age in Kilifi, Kenya, and Korogwe, Tanzania, and concluded that RTS,S/AS01E shows promise as a candidate malaria vaccine.
