This manual developed for the Western Pacific region provides a menu of programmatic options for improving timely delivery of the first dose of hepatitis B vaccine in different birth contexts to reduce mother-to-child transmission of the disease. These guidelines provide best practice examples from a variety of countries applicable to a variety of contexts, especially with respect to place of birth, to help national or subnational immunization and maternal health program managers and policymakers decide on programmatic strategies for delivering the vaccine.
