Estimating Global, Regional and National Rotavirus Deaths in Children Aged <5 Years: Current Approaches, New Analyses and Proposed Improvements

This article, published in PLoS ONE, reports figures for global, regional, and national rotavirus-related deaths in children under five years of age, and discusses updated methodologies for data analysis. In order to reduce delays in prioritization of public health interventions due to conflicting data sources, this article describes seven proposals for improving the quality and transparency of future rotavirus mortality estimates.
