This report provides guidance on the evaluation of influenza vaccine effectiveness (VE) studies, primarily for researchers and public health scientsts. It is divided into nine sections and illustrates critical considerations in the design, analysis, and evaluation of VE studies, including study limitations and errors that can lead to biased estimates and contextual information to properly interpret results, as well as why VE studies have a large role in policy for influenza vaccines.
