This article, published in Vaccine, presents the specific pregnancy-associated and neonatal conditions attributable, in part, to group B Streptococcus (GBS) in high- and lower-income countries. The authors provide a rationale for implementation of GBS glycoconjugate immunization during pregnancy to reduce the global burden of GBS-related morbidity and mortality in pregnant women and their infants.
