This book focuses on maternal conditions, childhood illness, and malnutrition. Specifically, the chapters address acute illness and undernutrition in children, principally under age five. Of particular interest may be chapters 9, 10, and 19, which focus on diarrheal diseases, vaccines for children in low- and middle-income countries, and cost effectiveness of treatment and prevention of diarrhea and pneumonia in Ethiopia, respectively.
