Effect of Multiple, Simultaneous Vaccines on Polio Seroresponse and Associated Health Outcomes

This article, published in Vaccine, compared vaccination with inactivated polio vaccine (IPV) alone or simultaneously with one other vaccine to vaccination with IPV and four other vaccines among adults in the United States military. The results showed that IPV alone or with one other vaccination was associated with a lower proportion of polio seroconversions than IPV in combination with four other vaccines. In addition, there appeared to be no negative health consequences from receiving few versus multiple simultaneous vaccinations.
