Rotavirus Vaccination in Europe: Drivers and Barriers

This review article, published in The Lancet Infectious Diseases, presents an overview of the status of rotavirus vaccination in Europe. The authors discuss the drivers (including high effectiveness of the vaccines and the effect of universal rotavirus vaccination) and barriers (including low awareness of disease burden, perception of unfavorable cost-effectiveness, and potential safety concerns) to the implementation of universal rotavirus vaccination in Europe.
