Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib) Vaccination Position Paper – July 2013
This article, published in the Weekly Epidemiological Record, summarizes the World Health Organization's recommendations on the inclusion of Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib) vaccines in all national immunization programs. Vaccination remains the only effective means of preventing Hib disease and is becoming increasingly important as Hib antibiotic resistance grows. This update replaces their earlier recommendation from 2006 and summarizes recent developments in the field.
