Diseases and the Vaccines That Prevent Them: For Parents of Infants and Young Children (Birth Through Age 6)

This series of fact sheets describes symptoms of infection as well as the benefits and risk of vaccination for 14 diseases, specifically for vaccines recommended for children from birth through the age of six years. There are two versions of each fact sheet for each disease. The "Disease Basics" sheets include an overview of each vaccine-preventable disease and vaccine information; these are also available in Spanish. The "In-Depth Information" sheets use a narrative style and some include a true story about a family affected by a vaccine-preventable disease.
