- Saving Lives With Malaria Control: Counting Down to the Millennium Development Goals

- Strengthening Communities' Responses to HIV/AIDS in Ethiopia
The Strengthening Communities’ Responses to HIV/AIDS project is a 3-year contract funded by USAID, with two 1-year option periods. PATH is the prime contractor and is joined by four international partners and several local partners. The goal of the project is to strengthen the capacity of civil-society organizations to improve access and quality of HIV care and support services, including counseling and testing and treatment-adherence activities within communities, so that health outcomes for HIV-positive Ethiopians and their dependents are improved.

- Strengthening Human Milk Banking
PATH is working to promote human milk banking to improve nutrition for infants who are especially vulnerable, such as those in resource-limited settings who are pre-term, low birthweight, severely malnourished, born to HIV-positive mothers, or orphaned. These briefs provide an overview of why human milk banking is important and how it can be integrated within breastfeeding strategies.

- Strengthening Regional Work on Gender-Based Violence: A Meeting of Activists, Practitioners, and Researchers from the Horn, East and Southern Africa, Kampala, Uganda, November 8-9, 2006
In November 2006, more than 100 community activists, advocates, researchers, service providers, health care professionals, and practitioners gathered in Kampala, Uganda, for a first-of-its-kind meeting on strengthening regional work on gender-based violence. Participants from 15 countries discussed innovative interventions, unexpected challenges, and lessons learned from their collective experiences in the field.The meeting was a collaborative initiative of PATH, Raising Voices, the Gender-Based Violence Prevention Network, the Interagency Gender Working Group, and the East Africa Regional Office of the US Agency for International Development. This report synthesizes the workshops, presentations, and discussions that were held over the two days.

Throughout Tanzania, PATH helps to bring tuberculosis (TB) and HIV services together in one place so that patients are able to access critical testing and medications more easily. This is the story of how PATH’s work to integrate the delivery of TB and HIV services helped save the life of a farmer in rural Tanzania. It is one of a series of success stories that showcase some of the ways that PATH’s work in TB is having an impact on people’s lives in a variety of settings around the world. - Towards the Elimination of FGM: Communication for Change
This curriculum was designed for trainers of public health workers, community organizers, youth advocates, and teachers. It draws on materials developed by many organizations and represents the culmination of several years of study, program implementation, and evaluation in the area of female genital mutilation (FGM). Its basic premise is that the discontinuation of FGM must be addressed at the community level. Its purpose is to introduce community workers to the concept of “communication for change” and to inspire and transfer skills for community-based approaches to problem-solving. The curriculum was field-tested in Kenya and Somalia. It is available as one large file or as several smaller files for easier downloading.
