- Emerging Trends in HIV Pathogenesis and Treatment
This paper was commissioned for the aids2031 Science and Technology Working Group as part of a series of working papers under the aids2031 initiative. This paper explores issues that could be included in a future research agenda to enhance drug development for HIV/AIDS, including the optimal time to begin antiretroviral therapy, appropriate dosing of antiretrovirals, possible implications of HIV on advanced aging, and an exploration of recent challenges in drug development.

- Engaging All Health Care Providers in Tuberculosis Control: Public-Private Partnership in Cambodia
This is the story of how PATH’s work to involve local pharmacists and other private-sector health providers in Cambodia in the early detection of tuberculosis (TB) cases helps to find people with TB faster and get them the treatment they need, using all of the country’s health care resources. This approach also helps ensure that all health care providers are knowledgeable about the correct drugs needed for TB and know how to refer patients to facilities for appropriate drugs when needed. This story is one of a series of success stories that showcase some of the ways that PATH’s work in TB is having an impact on people’s lives in a variety of settings around the world. This work was made possible through generous funding from the US Agency for International Development.

This handout is based on a poster presented by the Infant and Young Child Nutrition Project and AIDS, Population, and Health Integrated Assistance II Western Program at the 5th Breastfeeding and Feminism Symposium. This poster presentation describes the results of a baseline Voluntary Counseling and Testing (VCT) knowledge, attitudes, and practices (KAP) provider survey. A total of 893 medical and social service providers offering (VCT) services to populations engaged in risky behavior from 12 project sites in Ukraine participated in the survey. This poster was presented at the XVI AIDS conference in Toronto, August 13-18, 2006.

- First Results of Phase 3 Trial of RTS,S/AS01 Malaria Vaccine in African Children

- Formative Assessment of Infant and Young Child Feeding Practices at the Community Level in Zambia
This report reveals the results of formative research conducted to fill gaps in understanding of caregivers’ infant and young child feeding practices, following on the results of the 2007 Zambia Demographic and Health Survey. In particular, the study explores factors that influence a mother’s ability to exclusively breastfeed for the first six months of an infant’s life and factors that influence appropriate complementary feeding for children 6–23 months of age.

- Gender and Health Project With Young Men in Chongqing, China: Facilitator Manual
The Gender and Health Project With Young Men curriculum provides instructions for facilitating participatory and interactive discussions with young people on issues related to changing gender norms to be more gender equitable. The curriculum includes eight sessions: gender and power (two sessions), sexuality, men and health, healthy relationships, HIV/AIDS and condom use, gender roles and fatherhood, and violence.
