Combining Forces in Cambodia to Overcome Childhood Diarrhea and Pneumonia

This fact sheet provides an overview of PATH's ongoing work in Cambodia to integrate diarrhea and pneumonia control. At the national level, PATH collaborated with the Cambodia Ministry of Health to strengthen policy so that effective interventions and appropriate and reliable supplies are made available throughout the public- and private-health sectors as well as in the community to reduce the burden of diarrheal disease and pneumonia among children in Cambodia. PATH also worked on a district-level demonstration project to put policy into practice and inform expansion throughout the country. Through this integrated approach to community health, Cambodia is addressing the two most dangerous threats to its children and is already making a significant and lasting impact.

Courageous Community Leaders Go Above and Beyond to Fight Tuberculosis One Patient at a Time

This is the story of how two community members, Mr. Ritte and Mr. Kiondo, decided to team up to fight tuberculosis (TB). With PATH's training, the two men were able to improve TB case detection and treatment success in their community and in other districts, helping to foster the TB prevention, diagnosis, and treatment goals of the Tanzanian Ministry of Health and Social Welfare. This story is one of a series of success stories that showcase some of the ways that PATH’s work in TB is having an impact on people’s lives in a variety of settings around the world. This work was made possible through generous funding from the US Agency for International Development.

Designing Communication Strategies That Work: Implementing the SIM Process

This guide introduces a new approach to developing communication strategies at PATH. The SIM process—derived from strategy development, intervention redesign, and monitoring and evaluation—represents a first attempt to systematize three concurrent and interlinked strands of activity in the start-up phase of PATH communication-for-social-change projects. The SIM process is the result of learning from more than a decade of communication programming in the Kenya Country Program, refined and augmented through consultations with communications professionals in other PATH projects worldwide.
