- Acceptability of a Modified Nipple Shield Device to Reduce Breast Milk Transmission of HIV in Developing Countries: A Qualitative Study
Presented at the XVIII International AIDS Conference in 2010, this poster summarizes the results of a PATH and FHI analysis of the hypothetical acceptability of a modified nipple shield device (MNSD). This novel, low-cost MNSD is based on a conventional nipple shield that could be used discreetly by HIV-positive mothers to prevent mother-to-child transmission of HIV during breastfeeding.

- Adaptation of Immunoassays for Multiplexed Diagnosis of a Diverse Panel of Pathogens Associated With Acute Febrile Illness
This poster summarizes PATH’s recent activities as part of a consortium lead by the University of Washington to develop the DxBox, a system comprising a portable instrument and low-cost disposable cards. The prototype is being developed to diagnose typhoid fever, dengue fever, rickettsial diseases, malaria, measles, and influenza. - An Advocacy Strategy for Adoption and Dissemination of the WHO Policy on TB Infection Control in Health Care Facilities, Congregate Settings, and Households
In 2010, the World Health Organization (WHO) issued a new policy to guide activities for controlling tuberculosis (TB) infection. This report provides guidance on advocacy for political and financial support for TB infection control from donors and countries, widespread adoption of the WHO policy, and incorporation of it into national and local policies. The report also addresses advocacy for linkages with civil society organizations in the field to ensure demand for and implementation of the WHO policy to protect health workers, patients, and communities from TB transmission.

- Analysis of WHO Policy Development Process for a New Intervention
The PATH Malaria Vaccine Initiative commissioned this analysis to begin elucidating the World Health Organization (WHO) process for developing policy guidelines for a malaria vaccine. The analysis considered past WHO recommendations on new interventions and assessed potential implications for a malaria vaccine.
