Spotting Tuberculosis From the Frontlines: Engaging Pharmacies in Case-Finding

One of PATH’s strategies to find and treat tuberculosis (TB) patients is to build stronger referral networks. These collaborations are important in identifying patients who might otherwise be missed. This story describes how a pharmacy worker in Tanzania referred a mother and her young child for TB diagnosis using five simple screening questions that she learned in a PATH training. This story is one of a series of success stories that showcase some of the ways that PATH’s work in TB is having an impact on people’s lives in a variety of settings around the world. This work was made possible through generous funding from the US Agency for International Development.
